Anne Laurenson ISP Principal/PYP Coordinator
Anne graduated as an Early Years Specialist and has been teaching over thirteen years. She has vast experience delivering high quality Early Years Curriculum. She started her teaching career in the North of England but has worked abroad for the past nine years. Gran Canaria and Spain have been two of her postings and more recently Shenzhen (English Coordinator), Hong Kong (Curriculum Coordinator) and Shanghai (Head of Kindergarten). Her Masters Degree in Education focused on Curriculum Assessment, Management and Literacy. She enjoyed the challenges of establishing a brand new kindergarten in Shanghai and is quick to see the potential here in Palermo. Her aim is for ISP to firmly establish itself as a centre of excellence and to be granted IB certification.

Vicky Tarolla – Kindergarten teacher
Vicky graduated as Early Years specialist, specializing in managing care. She started her teaching career in the North of Italy. Vicky has vast experience in International School teaching, early years being her favourite department. She has had previous experience with the PYP and attended many courses for the Early years section. She loves travelling and is open to different cultures. Vicky is looking forward to helping ISP become a candidate IBO school and is happy to share all the joys that it will entail thanks to her enthusiasm and, of course, her experience in the pyp curriculum.

Allan Hearn – Second grade teacher
Allan joins us as Year Two teacher. Allan has been teaching for over twenty five years, across all age groups, and has extensive IBO, international experience. He is father to three grown children and grandfather to two wonderful boys. Allan is keen to build on the great work already done at ISP and will take responsibility for the coordination of P.E. and Social Studies throughout the school. Allan loves to travel and read.

Rona McCallum- Transition Class
Rona is from Glasgow, Scotland, but she has been living in Palermo for the past 28 years. She has more than 16 years experience as a nursery school teacher in Palermo. Rona has one son, who is now working and living in Rome. She loves travelling and in her free time she likes walking and reading. Rona is happy to join our team and take part in the growth of our happy school.

Amy Waelchli- First Grade Teacher
Amy is an English and drama specialist, with U.K primary teaching qualification and experience. She began teaching in the north of Italy and last year returned to the UK to teach in London. She is passionate about experiencing different lifestyles and cultures and has spent many summers travelling to different countries including Thailand, Malaysia and Costa Rica. Amy loves living in Italy and is enjoying exploring Palermo.

Barry McNulty- Third Grade Teacher
Barry qualified as a teacher in Glasgow, Scotland, and has experience teaching there and Padua, Italy. He loves travelling and his hobbies include walking, cycling and cooking. He is enjoying living and working in Palermo.
