In 2008 CEI Institute launched a new section of its school: CEI International School of Palermo. ISP embraces the spiritual vision of CEI but also promotes an international programme of study. The target language is English while Italian is an integral part of the academic programme as it is the main language spoken by its students. The School is divided into two sections: Early Childhood for students aged 3-5 and elementary which added 1st grade in 2009.
The programmes for each class (kindergarten, transition and
first grade) are held in English by British teachers and the
school also offers one hour a day of Italian. The teachers are
highly qualified and recruited worldwide to provide a quality
International education.
CEI International School was awarded
IBO Candidate School status in December 2010 and their final
aim is to become the first fully authorized IBO World School
in Italy south of Rome.
All ISP teachers and assistants have undergone initial PYP
training and are excitably putting this into practice.
ISP is set in its own premise within the CEI School in the Centre of the city of Palermo. The School offers excellent sporting and recreation facilities (link to CEI sporting and recreation facilities) and a series of extra curriculum activities (link to activities) are available.
